House with Flowers in Haute de Cagnes An Invitation To Painters

Open your atlas and trace your finger along the Mediterranean Coast of France just west of the Italian border and you find the Côte d’Azur also known as the French Riviera. Along this special stretch of coastline you find the famous place names of Antibes, Nice, St. Paul and Cannes. The Alpes-Maritime mountains form a backdrop to the coast. Hidden away along the sinuous mountain roads, the villages of Provence hang on the cliffs revealing themselves to those who venture from the seaside. Somewhere between the mountains and the azure sea you find yourself in the town of Vence. It is from here that artists are invited to join your instructor to paint and explore the medieval villages of this unique corner of Europe. Not only will you paint these special sites but you will have the opportunity to visit the homes and places of work of such famous artists as Picasso, Matisse, Dufy, Modigliani, Chagall and Renoir.

St Paul de Vence
